An especially difficult storm restoration continues for many Oklahomans simply because only two percent from the buildings ruined by the flooding were insured through the National Flood Insurance Program. Flood damage is not covered by home owners insurance. The leading reason for the small insurance coverage is almost all homes that suffered injury can be found outside an identified flood area.
Today’s word from the White House suggests FEMA’s grant programs aren't obtainable; however, the State proceeds to work with Oklahoma City on other methods of assistance like the possibility of Small Business Administration (SBA) low-interest loans to the people impacted by the June storms.
