The process of providing public assistance capital immediately after a natural disaster is a joint venture between the federal, state and local authorities.
Public Assistance (PA) programs are created to support state as well as local authorities along with certain nonprofit institutions to allow them to fund the repair, reconstruction, rebuilding, or replacement of a public building or infrastructure, that is broken or destroyed by a disaster.
FEMA approves PA tasks for funding along with awards the grant dollars directly towards the state, and the state disburses the funds to the local applicant (although the state may call for more information of the candidate before issuing the funds).
The Public Assistance program works with state and local authorities to rebuild government buildings, highways & bridges, educational structures, sewer plants, parks, several facilities owned or operated by charity agencies along with publicly possessed properties. FEMA along with the State can put aside money to bring every project to its pre-disaster state. In order for the plan to achieve success, federal, state and community partners synchronize to draw up project plans, create funding for the assignments and oversee their end.
